In November 2015, Rick Noguchi was named Vice President of External Relations of the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) in Los Angeles. Established in 1985, the Japanese American National Museum promotes understanding and appreciation of America’s ethnic and cultural diversity by sharing the Japanese American experience. Noguchi returns to the museum where he previously held positions in the public programs and development divisions. As Vice President of External Relations at JANM, Noguchi leads the Fundraising and Development Unit and the Marketing and Communications Unit.
Noguchi has more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, serving in various management, fundraising and philanthropic roles at UCLA, the California Community Foundation, and The James Irvine Foundation. He is the author of two collections of poetry and a children’s book set during post World War II. Noguchi holds a MBA from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management.
