Jacob has launched yourClass, an online education tool that connects teachers with students in a virtual classroom setting. yourClass, of which Ruytenbeek is CEO, is unique in that the online sessions are free for the first 50 live students. Classes are archived and can be purchased for viewing later.
Jacob authored this paper to discuss the influencing factors as to whether one should negotiate or auction within the procurement context. His paper on this topic was selected by the Oversight Committee of NCMA for publication in the October 2012 edition of Contract Management Magazine of the National Contract Management Association. At the NCMA World Congress in Boston, Massachusetts, Jacob was also recognized as the “Distinguished Graduate” for the NCMA Contract Management Leadership Development Program Class of 2011-2012.
Jacob’s company PaperChace was a finalist in the 2009 Pepperdine University Business Plan Competition. PaperChace offers the only decision tree analysis software made specifically for mediation and negotiation. Its proprietary solution creates a tree-like model of decisions and possible outcomes that help litigators, mediators, and clients make better decisions. Litigators and clients can conduct what-if analyses and establish settlement goals, gaining critical leverage in settlement negotiations. PaperChace is now serving mediators and attorneys in almost 10 countries around the world.
That same year, Jacob joined the U.S. Department of Defense as a contract specialist in Los Angeles.
He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University and admitted to practice law in the State of Florida. He is a member of both the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Young Leadership Division of the Florida Bar. he is a 2009 MBA graduate from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management.
