Jake WallJake has been named the readers choice for the 7×7 Hot 20 San Franciscans for 2013. Jake is co-founder (with fellow alumnus Nathan Johnson) and chief designer of the rising fashion house Artful Gentleman.

”Jake is rethinking fashion in San Francisco,” the publication wrote. “He blurs the lines around gender by creating custom suits and style for the City’s men, women, and gender-queer. Not only a fashion innovator, Jake is also a huge supporter of the LGBT community.”

Jake and Nate were featured in the Graziadio School’s summer edition of LAUNCH! Magazine.

Jake and Nate also had a huge success with their Suit Up for EQUALITY fashion event, which  Artful Gentleman. co-hosted with HRC of SF and McRoskey Mattress Co. With more than 200 people in attendance, the event raised quite a bit of funding for a great cause.

Artful Gentleman. reported to their Kickstarter followers that September was a month of exciting events. “We capped it off by curating the men’s style event, The Haberdash on behalf of the Bold Italic – our second year of participating,” they wrote. “We were also in attendance at the Glamorama fashion event which raised funds for Project Open Hand, Glide SF, and more. On top of all this, we’ve received praise from SF Gate as an emerging local designer as part of the Macy’s Fashion Incubator crew. As part of the Incubator we were also given the opportunity to showcase one of our new designs from our Fall Collection in the storefront windows at the Macy’s Union Square location and will take part in the 2013 Fall Fashion Fest which is San Francisco’s biggest fashion event of the Fall.”

“While we’re working hard at building partnerships and a bigger audience in and beyond San Francisco we are still taking the time to tidy up and improve our home. We have been consistently making updates and improvements to the showroom including upgrading to new racks and wooden detailing to display our showroom samples which makes everything look much more professional and stylish.”
