Chong Guk (C. G.) Kum, MBA ’79

cg.kimC. G. was recently appointed president and chief executive officer of Hanmi Financial Corporation in Los Angeles. He formerly served as president and chief executive officer of First California Financial Group, Inc, a position he held since 2007.

Prior to First California Financial Group, Inc., C.G. served as president and chief executive officer of First California Bank (formerly known as Camarillo Community Bank). Under his leadership, which began in 1999, First California Bank grew from two branches and total assets of $100 million to 19 branches and $2.0 billion in total assets. Previously, C.G. held management positions with banks in Colorado and California.

C.G. is currently active on the government relations council for the American Bankers Association and is a board member of the California Bankers Association and the Ventura County Council Boy Scouts of America. He is also a past president of the Board of Directors of Community Bankers of California.
