Tom Brady, MSHR ’78

Tom has been selected by Alvarez & Marshal’s Public Sector Services group as the new superintendent of Providence Public Schools. He will also serve as a senior advisor.

Previously, he served as chief operating officer (COO) of Fairfax County Public Schools, the 12th-largest school district in the U.S., and as COO of the District of Columbia Public Schools. Mr. Brady also served as COO and then interim chief executive officer of the School District of Philadelphia. Most recently, he was the superintendent of Providence Public Schools.

Specializing in K-12 education, his primary areas of concentration include partnering with school districts to plan and execute improvements to their business operational systems; allowing additional resources to be available to impact student academic achievement; providing planning and guidance for complex challenges to districts, such as budget deficient reductions and school closings; and providing districts innovative capital improvement methods, such as public-private partnerships. With more than 26 years as a U.S. Army Officer and 14 years in primarily urban public education, he has led complex organizations successfully.
