Phillip has been named by Granite Construction Incorporated, one of the nation’s leading infrastructure contractors, vice president of human resources, effective May 16, 2011.
“Phil brings an extensive human resources background in the construction industry with focused expertise in strategic planning,” said James H. Roberts, Granite’s president and chief executive officer. “I am confident that Phil will be a significant contributor to our efforts to be the industry’s employer of choice.”
Phil’s most recent position was as regional vice president of human resources for the Ryland Group, a publicly-traded homebuilder. In this role, Phil was responsible for developing and implementing all human resources strategies, including succession planning, acquisitions and growth initiatives for Ryland. Prior to joining Ryland, Phil served as vice president of human resources for North Carolina-based Alliant Foodservice, and as human resources specialist for Gannett Company.
Phil received a bachelor of arts degree from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, and an MBA from Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business and Management.
